3/17/2019 0 Comments Best Settings On Fortnite For MacThe following are based on what I have found to help and benefit my overall playing experience. I have tested this on my 2015 macbook Pro and get 35-55 fps ingame, 90ish pregame and 160 in matchmaking lobby. It'll let you use Windows on a Mac (remember, the recommended settings for Fortnite require a Windows OS). • If you want to boost your game's frame rate, lower all graphics settings. THIS VIDEO IS A HOW TO PLAY FORTNITE ON MAC IF YOU WANT TO PLAY AND IT SAIDS, 'Shader Platform Unavailable, Shader Platform: SF_METAL_SM4 was not cooked! 1) PLAY IN BOOTCAMP. I feel in bootcamp u can get real boost in fps. ALS ALL THE FOLLOWING DETAILS APPLY TO DOING THIS IN BOOTCAMP. 2) Remove the grass. Heres a video detailing how to -> THIS GIVES THE BIGGEST FPS boost. 3) Set all the settings to low (or medium for things like anti aliasing that for me didnt impact fps that much + post processing). 4) Set Mac-shipping-Fortnite.exe priority to Above Normal(otherwise heats up like crazy) 5) Change Performance settings. Adobe flash player. To do this right click on Computer properties and it should take you to a screen that shows computer specs, OS etc. To the left click advanced settings. CLick Performance settings and deselect everything apart from things you may want to leave. 6) Don't have anything running in the background like chrome.(I leave spotify and discord running for obvious reasons) 7) Turn audio quality to Low. 8) PLAY IN FULLSCREEN. I cant stress this enough but this gives alot more fps than being in fullscreen windowed. ALSO if someone can find the files in the mac version where engine, and game settings are (that have resolution settings etc in them) that would be helpful and could basically make obsolete playing on bootcamp. Hope these help you, definitely helped me.(also guide is made by me:D ). About Fortnite: Save the World (PvE) is an action building game from Epic Games. The HD doesn't mean much unless its a 7200 RPM drive (why would apple put in a good HDD xD) or a SSD, 8gb ram is average, it's probably 1333mhz so it's cheaper/slow ram. The intel HD graphics isn't really good for anything past day-to-day use and you've neglected one of the most important factors, processing speed Likely 2.4 ghz, which isn't bad but nowhere near the latest gen i5 desktop CPUs which run above 4.0ghz. Sadly being hardware limited, theres not much you can do beside lowering everything to the minimum and disabling premium features. Overwatch runs because the maps are static and there is a lot less rendering, rust and fortnite are procedurally generated and thus require more power. Rust loads, IDK say 10 players on your map at a time. Fortnite is trying to load 4 players plus 50-x00 husks at one time. Alright, so I have also been playing on a mac and have managed to get constant 30 ish fps. I have a Macbook Pro early 2015. Basically i either just close chrome or have max 2-3 tabs as well as all the applications running in the background apart from discord and spotify. Ingame decreased everything to 'low' and some reports said with shadows on medium they got a bit more fps so u could try that. Didnt feel much of a difference with 'post processing'. Oddly, going into sound and decreasing quality to medium gave me a few fps. Tip for ingame, when running in the middle of nowhere, i usually angle my POV a bit down as i've felt that really helps. NOTE: this doesn't mean looking at the group just slightly down. That basically sums everything up:D.
